Lakers 2010 Championship Ring ceremony

Players were thrilled in the Lakers 2010 championship ring ceremony

Lakers 2010 championship ring ceremony was held in Los Angeles at the Staple Center last night.  Before their win against the Rockets, the Lakers players were given their rings and watched the 2010 banner go up with happiness spread across their faces.

It was an emotional night for the players and Coach Phil Jackson.  Even though it was mostly scripted, the ceremony was certainly touching. According to, Coach Phil Jackson said, “I thought it was unique, I thought it was personal, I thought it was honoring the team. It was a good idea.”

Coach Phil Jackson went on to say, “Not only do we go out there and play basketball together, but we actually have become a family that gets it done. Everybody knows a lot about everybody, about their personal life and things like that. As much time that we spend together, everybody’s not going to have a great day every day.  Somebody’s going to come in mad, something’s happened the night before, something’s going on or whatever-whatever. For us to stay collected and win a championship is a great thing.”
The championship ring was a very special and expensive design.  Each ring features a player’s face and a piece of the ball from the game seven win against the Boston Celtics.  This is the most extravagant championship ring in NBA history and the Lakers’ 16th championship.
