changing MORENO VALLEY ...




MORENO VALLEY - A car wash will be held today to help raise money for the family of a 17-year-old Moreno Valley girl who was abducted July 15 and slain.
Norma Angelica Lopez disappeared after a summer school class at Valley View High School, and her body was found five days later. No arrests have been made in case so far.
Today, the Cali Style Low Riders car club will put on a car wash at the Firestone Tire Center, 24673 Alessandro Blvd., and donated all proceeds to the family.
Several people have made donations totaling about $25,000, according to published reports.
A memorial is planned for 4 p.m. Wednesday at St. Christopher's Catholic Church, 25075 Cottonwood Ave. A funeral Mass is set for 1 p.m. Thursday at the same church.
A bank account has been opened at Wells Fargo for donations to benefit the slain girl's family. Donations can be made at any branch.
A $35,000 reward is being offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or people responsible for killing Norma. Anyone with more information about the killing was urged to call police (877) 242- 4345.
